Amakhala Game Reserve is an ideal choice for your Big 5 Safari destination. This 7000 ha reserve is renowned for its truly awesome topography, created by the slowly meandering Bushman's River running through it.
Not only do we offer the much sought after Big 5, but there are over 16 antelope species, zebra, giraffe and many small interesting species. Our elephant sightings are likely to the highlight of your stay. In addition to game drives, we also offer boat cruises and guided walks.

   

The Amakhala Heritage Collection of Lodges are each owner managed and unique, offering a wide variety of accommodation and personalized style. We are proud to offer you the superb Amakhala service and famous hospitality.
Included in you stay at all our Lodges are morning and evening safari drives in open game viewing vehicles by experienced Rangers. All guests have the opportunity to enjoy a tranquil river cruise down the Bushman's River. You may choose to pamper yourself with a range of massage treatments by qualified therapists in the comfort and privacy of your room.

3 day Package
On a typical 3 Day package one of your morning drives will be a game drive to the Addo Elephant National Park, home to the highest density of African Elephants in the world, followed by a visit to the famous Born Free Foundation.

From Port Elizabeth take the N2 towards Grahamstown. Approximately 50km from PE at the Nanaga Interchange, continue on the N2. Approximately 15km further is the turn off to Leeuwenbosch Country House on your right.

Bush Lodge

From Port Elizabeth take the N2 towards Grahamstown. Approximately 50km from PE at the Nanaga Interchange, continue on the N2. Approximately 10km further is the turn off to Bush Lodge on your right. Check in at Reed Valley Inn and you will be transported to the Bush Lodge.
