Colchester, which is only 30 minutes from Port Elizabeth on the N2, is very well positioned for visitors wishing to visit the Addo Elephant National Park (Southern Gate), Scotia Safaris, Shamwari Game Reserve as well as Kariega Game reserve. Other attractions in the area include the Nukakamma Canoe Trail on the Sundays River, the famous Alexandria Dune Field, Horse Riding and 4x4 trails. The Sundays River area has abundant birdlife and is suitable for river, surf and estuary angling and all water-sports.
