Stormsriver Adventures is a rurally based Eco adventure Company situated in the heart of the majestic Tsitsikamma Forest region aptly named 'THE GARDEN OF THE GARDEN ROUTE'. The company boasts adventure activities which include the world renowned Tsitsikamma Treetop Canopy Tour, Tsitsikamma Forest Tour (Woodcutters Journey), Hiking Trails, Team Building, Local Crafting Facility and a Catering Facility / Restaurant.

1. Training and Development of Community Members.
Since 1998 Stormsriver Adventures has introduced, trained and developed 620 community members into the Eco Adventure Tourism Sector. These initiatives have included guide training and development, financial training in accounting, reception and client liaison, catering and restaurant management, computer literacy and life skills. These initiatives have empowered community members some who have taken up senior positions in the adventure industry overseas and others who have been successful locally. Our mission has been socio economic upliftment through skills development.

2. School Feeding Scheme
SRA has provided 4 meals per week to 200 primary school children for the past 8 years. Many of these kids do not receive a decent daily meal at home. Meals are delivered to the local primary school and are supplied by our empowerment catering company who are paid by SRA.

3. Animal Welfare and Education
We run a community based animal welfare project which involves dog dipping, mange treatment, de worming, sterilization and animal trauma treatment.

Pet food is also supplied to the needy. The prime objective of the program is to teach the kids how to care for their animals and to give them a sense of caring and belonging. The positive spin-off has been tangible as these kids are now caring for the brothers and sisters in a positive manner.120 Sterilizations have been done to date, 300 dippings and 100 mange treatments are conducted per year.

4. SMME Development
SRA has created a platform for small enterprises, mainly community based to supply goods and services. Stormsriver caterers comprising of 10 women supply all catering requirements to SRA. 26000 meals are supplied pa and a restaurant is run by this company. Adventure Footage is a small Audio Visual Company supplying DVD's to clients. Community members have been trained inn camera work and computer processing of footage. This is an independent operation which has created 10 additional job opportunities over the past years.

5. Hiv Aids education and awareness
SRA has initiated an extensive internal program to address the Aids issue. This initiative is now being extended to the community by way of staff volunteers who will assist with education and counselling to the school and the broader community. The team is called the WE CARE MOVEMENT .and is an outreach action which hopefully will turn the tide of the pandemic in our village.

6. Other Actions
Environmental Education and awareness which involves taking 1200 children free on our excursions per annum. Clothing collection and distribution to the poorest of the poor. Capacitation of local crafters and marketing their crafts through our small retail outlet.
